Description


The OCM 5892 is a 9-channel passive CWDM optical multiplexer and/or demultiplexer. This module enables the combination of up to 9 optical signals into a single unidirectional or bidirectional fibre link.

This version of the module supports 9 of the 18 wavelengths specified in the CWDM channel spacing grid according to ITU standard (ITU-T G 694.2), namely wavelengths from 1450nm to 1610nm.

The module has an upgrade port (UPG) for expansion. When connected to the OCM 1891, the two modules (combined) support all 18 CWDM wavelengths.

The module is passive in operation, meaning it requires no power, and is mechanically compatible with all 5000 series chassis and installs from the rear of the rack.
