The BC501T is a transmitter for converting analogue composite video and two analogue audio channels to fibre optic cable. The incoming video signal is clamped and digitally converted before transmission over a single optical fibre. Two separate audio channels are also filtered and digitally converted before being presented to the optical driver. The card is not dependent on a video signal for transmission and can be used as an audio-only transmission system. All Bluebell cards are designed to maintain maximum signal path integrity, providing excellent jitter-free optical transport.

The BC501 will also transmit tri-level syncs, VITS, SIS, teletext data and Timecode. The BC501 can be used with a standard optical splitter to optically distribute syncs and Timecode throughout an entire facility.

The BC501T is available in multimode, single mode, WDM and CWDM versions to suit any fibre application.

The BC501T occupies a single slot in the BC100 19″ 3RU rack chassis which can accommodate up to 15 single-slot cards. Some BC series processing cards have dual functionality enabling the transmission or reception of up to 30 video channels from a single 3RU chassis.
Signal and card monitoring is performed via SNMP monitoring in the BM102 network card.

For standalone applications, the BC501T can be housed in a robust individual enclosure.
