Bluebell's Shax system has been designed to enable the deployment of SD-SDI and HD-SDI broadcast cameras fitted with standard SMPTE 304M hybrid connectors using ordinary single-mode optical fibres.

This system enables the user to replace the fibre/copper hybrid cable between the camera and the CCU with a standard fibre cable. The Shax system is perfect for stadiums, arenas and concert halls with pre-installed fibre networks.

Both ends of this system are housed in a compact, lightweight and reinforced aluminium enclosure, ideally suited to outside broadcast and mobile applications where the camera can be powered locally.

Shax extends the range of the camera system and frees the operator from long lengths of cumbersome hybrid cable. Connection with duplex single-mode fibre is via standard SC, LC, ST or FC connectors.
