Rode stereo microphone
Created in collaboration with renowned classical music producer/engineer Tony Faulkner, the Rode TF-5 MP Black is a matched pair of small-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphones optimised for sonic transparency, precise stereo imaging and discreet placement. Whether you are recording orchestral instruments, piano, acoustic guitar, percussion or drums, the TF-5 MP can accurately reproduce the variable timbre and dynamic range of your source.
The precision capsule of each microphone uses a cardioid polar pattern to improve directivity and reduce ambience. Thanks in particular to JFET active electronics, the microphones can handle high SPL levels up to 120 dB while offering a wide, flat frequency response with low noise. Powered by 48 V phantom power, the microphones are not subject to performance degradation caused by flat batteries.
Mount both TF-5 microphones on a single microphone stand via the supplied mic clips and the SB20 stereo bar, which includes angle/measurement indicators for ORTF and X/Y configurations. The compact, lightweight microphone bodies ensure a balanced installation with a variety of microphone stands, from the most compact to the most robust. Windshields are included to reduce wind or HVAC noise.
