Designed for use in both the world's most prestigious recording studios and performance venues as well as home studios, its existence is the result of RØDE's passionate work. Every element of the NTR, from the transformer to the ribbon element itself, was designed and created in-house at RØDE's headquarters in Sydney, Australia. All with the goal of creating the best ribbon microphone available.

In terms of sound, the NTR is capable of reproducing unprecedented detail and precision in the high frequencies, addressing common criticisms of other ribbon microphones, while considerably expanding the possible usage scenarios. This allows it to record sound sources that would normally require a more sensitive microphone element.
