Neumann TLM 102: Condenser microphone with a compact body and classic Neumann design. It is designed for universal use. It features a cardioid polar pattern, a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz, an impedance of 50 ohms, a maximum sound pressure level of 144 dB SPL and a slight presence boost above 6 kHz. The microphone capsule is mounted in an elastic suspension for structure-borne noise suppression. It is fitted with a protective grille that also serves as a pop filter. It is ideal for home recording studios, small television and radio stations.
With a nickel finish, the Neumann TLM-102 large-diaphragm studio condenser microphone is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone operating with a cardioid polar pattern. It has the ability to handle very high sound pressure levels.
The capsule, with its high SPL tolerance, allows the recording of percussion, drums, amplifiers and other very loud sound sources. The microphone is equally effective for recording low-level sounds thanks to its very fast transient response. However, its most important applications are in the field of vocals and speech.
A slight boost above 6 kHz provides excellent vocal presence, while below 6 kHz the frequency response is extremely linear for minimal colouration and a clearly defined low-end range. The capsule features an elastic suspension to minimise structure-borne noise, while an integrated pop filter in the grille helps to suppress plosives during vocal and speech recording.
