The Neumann KMS 104 plus is a black cardioid microphone designed to transmit the human voice optimally while taking into account the demanding conditions present on stage. The microphone's high acoustic resolution and harmonious frequency response ensure that the musician maintains optimal control of their stage performance at all times. Thanks in particular to its low self-noise and its uncoloured off-axis response, the KMS 104 plus is suited for use with in-ear monitoring systems. The condenser capsule features a cardioid polar pattern that ensures optimal rejection of sounds coming from the rear of the microphone. The KMS 104 plus offers an extended frequency response in the low frequencies and has been specifically optimised for the needs of female voices in rock and pop. The microphone offers particularly high acoustic transparency, a wide frequency range and fine transient resolution. The carefully tuned acoustic filter and the transformerless impedance converter can handle very high sound pressure levels to prevent the microphone from being overloaded by powerful plosives. Despite excellent protection against plosives, sibilants and "S" sounds are transmitted with their natural accentuation, as only condenser microphones allow. Furthermore, the acoustic filter is designed to preserve the distinctive directional characteristics of the capsule even at low frequencies. The filter thus ensures a very high level of protection against feedback when the microphone is used with a stage PA system. As vocal microphones are generally used at close range, electronic compensation is used for the proximity effect in the respective capsule for the frequency response of the KMS 104 plus. In addition, the microphone features a fixed built-in high-pass filter with a cut-off frequency of 120 Hz (-3 dB, measured in free field). The low self-noise level of only 18 dBA allows the microphone to be used at high gain levels without the risk of additional noise. Even at long distances, the microphone operates with a high signal|noise ratio, facilitating the freedom of movement and creativity that are important for the performer. The KMS 104 plus features a thick-walled metal body that provides effective protection against handling noise. The microphone's head grille is made of hardened steel. If necessary, it can be easily unscrewed to allow cleaning of the internal acoustic filter. The microphone is supplied with a suitable mounting clip and a padded nylon pouch robust enough for touring. - Excellent transparency for voice|speech - Cardioid polar pattern with excellent feedback rejection - Uncoloured off-axis response - Transformerless output - Effective protection against plosives without side effects - Kit including a mounting clip and a nylon pouch
