Fohhn Hybrid Line Array System, black

The compact, high-performance Fohhn® Linea LX-500/501 line array systems enable perfect speech transmission, even in difficult acoustic conditions. The tightly controlled sound dispersion characteristics of the speakers help avoid unwanted reflections from the ceiling or floor, significantly improving speech intelligibility. Complex microphone configurations can also be used without problems.

Each passive two-way LX-500/501 line speaker system has a power capacity of 700 W at 8 ohms, housing 4 x 6.5-inch speakers and 4 x 1-inch compression drivers with Fohhn® waveguide. A dispersion of 100° x 20° (H x V) ensures that sound is transmitted directly to the audience, whilst floor and ceiling reverberations are significantly reduced, thus improving sound quality and speech intelligibility. Each speaker weighs only 23 kg, providing a practical solution for use in various performance situations.
Designed primarily for fixed installation, the LX-500 is equipped with an 8-pin Phoenix terminal block. Its elegant design and birch plywood cabinet (metal-reinforced) are suitable for installation in various modern and historic environments. Its mobile counterpart, the LX-501, features two Speakon connectors and includes integrated handles at the top and bottom. The speaker cabinet has an additional PU coating to withstand the rigours of touring. Quick to install, with easy tripod use, the LX-500/501 offers an efficient system with true line array qualities.
The LX-500/501 are fully compatible with the Fohhn system concept. The LX-500/501 can be effectively paired with the XS-30 or XS-4 active subwoofer, forming the essential components of Fohhn's new Linea Live IV system. The Linea LX-500 speakers are superbly manufactured and totally convincing with their elegant design and excellent sound quality. They are exclusively equipped with latest-generation neodymium speakers. Their slim, rounded cabinet is made from high-quality birch plywood, waterproofed and aluminium-reinforced. All standard RAL colours are available on request. Accessories for tripod use or suspension are also available, enhancing the professional performance of the speakers.

Accessories
The optional VLX-600 suspension adapter enables quick and safe mounting of LX-500/501 speakers on a truss and optimal positioning. An optional eyelet ring allows rear attachment of a safety cable to comply with international regulations. Used with a tripod, the optional SA-8 enables precise adjustment of the line array's sound directivity for optimal audience coverage. 8 M6 threaded inserts and 2 M8 are included for attachment to eyelet rings and suspension points.

Linea LX Speaker Control
We always integrate a sophisticated passive filter with electronic high-frequency protection so you can use the LX-500/501 with any professional amplifier. For maximum sound performance and operational reliability, we recommend our digital DSP amplifiers (e.g., D-2.1500). Its integrated DSP technology includes a number of factory speaker presets. These ensure complete operational reliability and superb performance at any sound pressure level. Programmable audio tools, such as the 10-band parametric equaliser, enable quick adjustments to suit room acoustics and any associated microphone configuration. All DSP functions can be performed remotely using a laptop computer.

DSP Technology
Fohhn® DSP processor technology perfectly modulates the Linea LX-500/501 and Fohhn subwoofers. Fohhn digital signal processors are integral components of Fohhn active subwoofers, Fohhn DSP amplifiers and Fohhn DSP controllers. DSP-controlled Fohhn devices can be remotely operated from a central location in the room or on stage via intuitive remote control units. Fohhn thus offers a perfectly adapted sound system that meets all requirements of a modern speaker system in terms of design, sound quality and user comfort in all respects.

Connections
8-way Phoenix terminal block, two adjacent pins are always connected in parallel for loop connection to another speaker system.

Fohhn® Hybrid Line Array Technology
Unique! High-performance line array technology in a compact housing!
We have been developing and researching high-quality line array speakers for many years. Our goal is to integrate the advantages of modular line array systems into compact and easy-to-implement systems. The key to achieving these goals was the development of an entirely new system that reproduces live signals at high levels and combines all the advantages of a modular line array system. The column-shaped speaker design was the logical consequence. However, to achieve maximum sound quality at high volumes with the new design, it was necessary to use powerful mid-bass speakers combined with horn-loaded compression drivers. The use of a waveguide with directivity specifically adapted to the mid-bass array was a crucial factor in achieving consistent dispersion in the high frequencies.
The Fohhn Linea LX series systems have a hybrid design based on a combination of classic two-way speakers and modular line array, and integrate the functional advantages of both principles. Whilst on large line arrays, the compression driver, waveguide and horn are always arranged one in front of the other, this configuration was not possible on the LX series due to the shallow depth. An extremely complex one-year project and a completely new approach to developing the Fohhn HWC (Horn Loaded Wave Converter) were required to house all three elements in the cabinet. In the HWC, a waveguide that produces a slightly curved vertical cylindrical wave from the wave fronts of four individual 1" speakers has been spatially integrated into a constant horizontal directivity horn to maximise usable sound pressure. The waveguide was the only element that enabled the development of such a narrow system design without requiring modifications affecting configuration or dynamics. From a mechanical standpoint, the system's dimensions and weight were minimised by using appropriate materials for the cabinet, magnetic system and other components.

Linea LX: An overview of the main advantages

First-class sound with excellent dynamics

Whether used for full-throttle live music or DJ events, or for demanding vocal applications, Linea LX systems guarantee superb sound quality at all speaker levels.

Uniform sound distribution with Fohhn Hybrid Line Array technology
Compared to conventional systems, sound is distributed much more evenly throughout the room, with a pleasant effect at the front and clear, consistent sound all the way to the back.

Excellent speech intelligibility
Sound can be specifically directed towards the audience, avoiding unwanted reflections from the ceiling or floor. For the listener, the result is clear and pleasant. Speech intelligibility is significantly improved.

Perfect integration into room architecture and stage designs
These elegant design speakers integrate extraordinarily well into their environment. They will not interfere with stage sets or camera shots.

Undisturbed listening
Feedback is rarely a problem, even with complex microphone configurations.

Easier transport and faster installation
Linea LX speakers are equipped with lightweight, state-of-the-art neodymium speaker technology. Strategically positioned handles ensure quick and safe installation. The compact dimensions of the speakers reduce the space required for storage and transport.

No need for expensive rigging or curving
Compared to modular line array systems, no expensive suspension, rigging or curving mechanisms are required. All line array technology is integrated into a single cabinet, enabling quick and easy installation.
