A double act of 18"
The new PS-850 is a passive direct-radiating subwoofer, with bass-reflex enclosure and Non-Turbulent Port (NTP) design. The system is equipped with two high-performance 18" long-excursion drivers with 4.5" voice coil and water-resistant cones. Its rated power is 2000 W.

The subwoofer is designed for exclusive use with Fohhn's high-performance DI series amplifiers: This ensures optimal performance and speaker protection.
Quality materials and construction
The PS-850 enclosure is manufactured from high-quality birch multiplex plywood and finished with a black scratch-resistant polyurethane coating. For optional weather protection, the subwoofer is also available with additional water-repellent impregnation of the speaker cone. The front grille is lined with acoustic foam and powder-coated in the same colour as the enclosure. At the rear of the enclosure are two recessed Neutrik NL4 Speakon connectors - this allows the subwoofer to be installed directly against a wall without the cable bending.
Additional connectors for cardioid configurations
The PS-850 is further equipped with two additional Speakon connectors at the front. In a cardioid configuration, this allows amplifier signals to be passed through without problems - to the rear of a stack or array. The amplifiers include respective presets for cardioid operation.
Bass with Beam Steering
The new subwoofers also function as a Focus Sub Array: When used with the new DSP amplifiers, the beam characteristics of a vertical or horizontal bass array can be controlled electronically in real-time, using a PC and the free Fohhn Audio Soft control software. All settings can be saved as presets and recalled with a single click in changing sound reinforcement situations. No complex rearrangement is necessary.

The PS-850 is equipped with numerous mounting points and features designed to greatly facilitate transport and on-site installation.
Stacking: The enclosure has two coupling slots on the top - on the bottom are two corresponding rubber pads.
Stand use: The top of the enclosure has an M20 thread for a spacing rod.
Suspended applications: Four slots allow subsequent adaptation of appropriate suspension hardware.
Vertical: The right and left sides of the enclosure are each equipped with four rubber feet, allowing the subwoofer to be positioned vertically if necessary.
Transport: The subwoofer is equipped with four handles on each side. Two mounts at the rear of the enclosure allow attachment of an optional dolly.
Other features: Two attachments for an optional front cover, plus a fixing device for a cable tie at the rear of the enclosure.

Smart accessories
The new subwoofer/amplifier system is completed by a range of accessories: for suspended applications, the subwoofer has its own suspension frame. It can also be subsequently equipped with suspension hardware (with the Fohhn Interlock system). Thanks to the Fohhn Interlock system, the time spent on system installation is considerably reduced: simple, safe, fast and without losable components. A trolley allows secure transport of up to three subwoofers (including suspension frames). Also available are a dolly (with SmartLock mounting) for transporting a single subwoofer, as well as appropriate transport covers.

The subwoofer is equipped with the following fixtures: one M20 thread for spacing rod, four slots for a suspension system and two attachments for an optional front panel. The system also has two mounts for an optional dolly and four handles on each side. A transport cover is also available. The subwoofer is suitable for use in vertical, horizontal or end-fired bass arrays, as well as in cardioid configurations.
