The Yamaha DXS15XLF black is a powered subwoofer designed to extend the low frequencies of full-range loudspeakers and is perfectly suited for use with any powered speaker in the DZR series. The 1600 W Class D amplifier drives the 15-inch woofer to deliver a frequency range of 33 to 150 Hz (-10 dB) with a maximum SPL of 136 dB. The built-in 96 kHz D-XSUB LF DSP processor provides complete bass management. Normal mode is ideal for a balanced low-frequency response, while Boost mode offers tighter and more focused bass with a little more punch. Xtended LF mode lowers the bass frequencies even further for a deeper sound. When using two or more subwoofers, selecting Cardioid mode can effectively reduce stage volume while increasing the low-frequency output directed towards the audience. The rear panel offers two XLR/6.35 mm jack combo inputs with XLR link outputs/sockets and dedicated level controls. A USB port allows system updates and the configuration and storage of presets. The Yamaha DXS15XLF comes with a standard IEC power cable. Features - Powered bass-reflex subwoofer - Woofer: 15 inches with 4-inch voice coil - Ideal for extending the low frequencies of all full-range loudspeakers - Maximum SPL: 136 dB - Frequency range (-10 dB): 33 to 150 Hz - 1600 W high-power Class D amplifier module - Lightweight yet highly robust plywood cabinet with premium polyurea coating D-XSUB LF Processing - DXS XLF subwoofers are powered by high-performance 96 kHz DSP processors and use dynamic equalisation - The built-in D-XSUB LF processing provides complete low-frequency management - Normal mode: Set for an ideally balanced low-frequency response - Boost mode: Offers tighter and more focused bass with a little more punch - Xtended LF mode: Lowers the bass frequencies even further for a deeper sound - Cardioid mode: - Works with two or more subwoofers - Effectively reduces acoustic pressure on stage while increasing the low-frequency output directed towards the audience - Results in a much cleaner monitoring environment on stage DSP Protection - DSP protection functions for maximum output and component longevity - Active subwoofers ensure that the transducer and amplifier combination is matched and optimised for the best possible performance - During development, Yamaha measured and tested the durability of each transducer and the overall amplifier output to define optimal limiting points using precise DSP control - Using many of the same protection features used in high-end professional power amplifiers, Yamaha's DSP continuously monitors the status of the power supply, power amplifiers, transducers and signal levels to protect each component in order to maintain optimal performance while extending the service life and usability of the components
