The Yamaha DXS18XLF-DW white is a Dante-equipped active subwoofer designed to extend the low frequencies of full-range speakers and particularly suited for use with the DZR series powered speakers. The 1600W Class D amplifier drives the 18" woofer to deliver a frequency range of 30 to 150 Hz (-10 dB) with a maximum SPL of 136 dB.
The built-in 96 kHz LF D-XSUB DSP processor provides comprehensive bass management. Normal mode is ideal for a balanced low-frequency response, while Boost mode delivers tighter, more focused bass with extra punch. Xtended LF mode lowers the low frequencies further for more substantial bass. When using two or more subwoofers, selecting Cardioid mode can effectively reduce the volume on stage while increasing the bass output directed towards the audience.
The rear panel features two XLR-1/4" combo inputs with XLR outputs/thrus and dedicated level controls. A USB port allows system updates as well as preset configuration and saving. The DXS18XLF-D is fitted with an additional panel featuring two etherCON connectors (2 inputs/2 outputs) for interfacing with other Dante-compatible equipment such as other speakers and Yamaha CL/QL/TF digital mixing consoles. The Yamaha DXS18XLF-DW comes with a standard IEC power cable.

D-XSUB LF Processing
- DXS XLF subwoofers are driven by 96 kHz high-power DSP processors and use dynamic equalisation
- The built-in D-XSUB LF processing provides comprehensive low-frequency management
- Normal mode: Set for an ideally balanced low-frequency response
- Boost mode: Delivers tighter, more focused bass with extra punch
- Xtended LF mode: Lowers the low frequencies further for more substantial bass
Cardioid mode:
- Works with two or more subwoofers
- Effectively reduces acoustic pressure on stage while increasing the bass output directed towards the audience
- Results in a much cleaner monitoring environment on stage
DSP Protection
- DSP protection functions for maximum output and component longevity
- Active subwoofers ensure that the transducer and amplifier combination is matched and optimised for the best possible performance
- During development, Yamaha measured and tested the durability of each transducer and the overall amplifier output to define optimal limiting points using precise DSP control
- Using many of the same protection functions found in high-end professional amplifiers, Yamaha DSP continuously monitors the status of the power supply, power amplifiers, transducers and signal levels to protect each component in order to maintain optimal performance while extending the lifespan and usability of components
Dante
- Dante enables intelligent system integration with Yamaha consoles and other Dante devices via Dante I/O (2 inputs/2 outputs), which also includes SRC (sample rate conversion) enabling compatibility with 48 kHz devices
- Cabling is considerably simplified with Yamaha CL/QL digital mixing consoles from the I/O device display
- TF console users can select Quick Config for surprisingly fast and easy setup and use of a sophisticated PA system
- Combining analogue I/O with Dante I/O opens up flexible routing and system configuration options
- The Dante break-IN and break-OUT functionality adds even more flexibility by acting as a simple I/O box
- Yamaha"s customisable control software "ProVisionare Control" for Windows and "ProVisionare Touch" for iPad are also Dante-compatible, adding simpler remote management of your PA system
