Yamaha bi-amplified bass-reflex 2-way studio monitor (White)
The Yamaha HS8 white active studio monitor is a 2-way reference speaker designed for mixing and monitoring in a home studio or professional studio environment. Equipped with a 120 W bi-amplification system powering an 8" woofer and a 1" tweeter, the HS8 is designed to deliver maximum dynamic range, minimum distortion and an extended response up to 30 kHz. The HS8 features both an XLR input and a 1/4" TRS input accepting balanced or unbalanced signals for maximum flexibility in a variety of studio configurations. Low-resonance cabinet design HS series speakers are designed to eliminate unwanted resonances and increase the accuracy of sound reproduction to their extreme limit. The cabinets are constructed from dense MDF with a damped acoustic response. HS series engineers also employed a traditional three-way mitre joint assembly technique. Common in architectural design, this construction firmly anchors the corners of the cabinet to improve durability and eliminate unwanted resonances that can influence the overall sound. Noise reduction technology The design of the speaker port can greatly influence overall sonic clarity. Often, a vortex at each end of the port can generate air vibrations inside the port, causing unwanted noise. By adopting a noise reduction technology that incorporates the analysis of a visual representation of sound, Yamaha engineers are able to control and reduce the vortex. Through this analysis, Yamaha has achieved a port design that reduces noise by up to 6 dB. Controls and connectivity Full-range models in the HS series feature two response controls with settings that allow them to adapt to the surface acoustics of rooms of varying shapes and sizes. ROOM CONTROL allows you to attenuate the exaggerated and unnatural low frequencies that can often occur when speakers are placed near walls, while HIGH TRIM allows more flexible control of the high-frequency response. For inputs, full-range HS speakers can accommodate a range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS connectors. Features - High-performance speakers and mounting system - 8" cone woofer, 1" dome tweeter - Impressive frequency response from 38 Hz to 30 kHz - Large magnets in an advanced magnetic circuit design - Built-in bi-amplification: 75 watts LF, 45 watts HF - Dedicated power amplifiers perfectly matched to the woofer and tweeter - Cabinet designed to eliminate unwanted resonances that can influence the sound - Room Control and High Trim response controls provide an optimal response in any room
