The Yamaha HS8I white 2-way bi-amplified studio monitor delivers 120 W of output power, an 8.0" cone woofer, a 1" dome tweeter, response controls to adapt the speaker output to a wide range of acoustic spaces, as well as a standard XLR connector and a jack socket for direct connection to electronic musical instruments and other sources. The active studio monitor can be used to reproduce audio in various environments such as recording studios, personal studios, cafés, restaurants and more. Designed with a low-resonance enclosure, the HS series with its MDF cabinet offers a damped acoustic response ideally suited to reference monitors. The bi-amplified design includes a 75 W amplifier for the woofer and a 45 W amplifier for the tweeter. Additional features include noise reduction technology that reduces audible noise by up to 6 dB at the speaker port. Furthermore, the HS8I studio monitor can be wall- or ceiling-mounted. High-efficiency transducers The HS series is equipped with newly developed transducers offering a smooth response over a wide bandwidth. These transducers use an advanced magnetic field design that regulates the magnetic field response to deliver natural and transparent sonic transitions. - Tweeter: 1" dome - Woofer: 8.0" cone High-performance amplification unit The HS series speakers use an amplification unit perfectly matched to the transducers used in each model in the series. Featuring a bi-amplified design with a separate dedicated amplifier for the woofer and tweeter, this amplification unit ensures that every HS series speaker delivers high-resolution sound with a flat response across the entire sonic spectrum. Low-resonance enclosure design Monitor enclosures are designed to eliminate unwanted resonances and increase sound reproduction accuracy. The enclosures are constructed from dense and robust MDF with a damped acoustic response well suited to reference monitors. Noise reduction technology The design of the speaker port can considerably influence overall sonic clarity. Often, turbulence at each end of the port can generate air vibrations inside the port, causing unwanted noise. By adopting advanced noise reduction technology, audible noise reduction is decreased by up to 6 dB. This allows HS series studio monitors to meet the demands of professional production environments. Controls and connectivity Full-range HS series models feature two response controls with detailed settings that allow them to adapt to the acoustics of rooms of varying shapes and sizes. The Room control attenuates unnatural and exaggerated low frequencies that can often occur when speakers are placed near walls, while the High Trim setting allows better control of the high-frequency response. For inputs, full-range HS speakers can accommodate a wide range of balanced and unbalanced sources such as mixers, keyboards and audio interfaces with XLR and TRS sockets. Flexible installation By adding mounting points to the original HS monitor, the HS-I model is now compatible with three types of optional brackets — wall, ceiling and stand mounting — adding the flexibility needed to suit a wide range of sound environments. Features - Installable version of the HS8 — includes mounting points on 4 surfaces - High-performance drivers: 8" cone woofer, 1" dome tweeter - Impressive frequency response from 38 Hz to 30 kHz - Large magnets in an advanced magnetic circuit design - Built-in bi-amplification: 75 watts LF, 45 watts HF - Dedicated power amplifiers perfectly matched to the woofer and tweeter - Enclosure designed to eliminate unwanted resonances that can colour the sound - Room Control and High Trim controls offer optimal response in any room
