Sony 8K Portable Studio Camera Head
Realises high-quality, high-definition and wide-colour gamut image expression
Equipped with a newly developed 1.25-inch 3-plate 8K CMOS image sensor and combined with a newly developed prism, high-definition 8K resolution (7680 x 4320) for high-speed shooting up to 119.88p and wide colour gamut (ITU-R BT.2020) compatible for HDR production. As a result, you can shoot high-definition 8K images with a high depth of field and high image quality with clear moving objects. For example, in a deep stadium, the movements of not only the player in the centre of the screen but also the players behind him are clearly displayed. Also, in the 3-plate type, RGB (red, green, and blue) light is split through a prism, and three 1.25-inch 8K image sensors capture each RGB light, achieving more faithful colour reproducibility.

From the camera control unit UHCU-8300 connected to the UHC-8300, 8K/4K/HD signals can be output at the same time, and different colour gamuts and OETFs (Opto-Electronic Transfer Function) can be applied to each video signal, so simultaneous output of 8K HDR signal, 4K HDR signal, and HD SDR signal is also possible. Also, due to the oversampling effect of 8K video, 4K/HD video can be condensed with a richer amount of information than the required number of pixels and output, enabling high-resolution video expression. It is also possible to build a system that links with 4K and HD camera systems. You can use familiar peripherals such as the remote control panel (RCP) and viewfinder in common with this product.
Video cutout function from 8K to 4K
By the image processing of the processor installed in the camera system, it corresponds to the cutout function that can cut out and operate any 4K video from 8K video. From the UHCU-8300 connected to the UHC-8300, you can cut out a wide range of images taken at an angle of view of 8K from the fixed 9 positions, as well as 3 specific images set by the user in 4K image quality.
B4 mount lens for 4K video production can be attached by combining with B4 lens adapter made by other companies
When combined with another company's B4 lens adapter, you can shoot not only with a 1.25-inch 8K lens, but also with a 2/3-inch 4K B4 mount lens. By using a 4K high-power lens for sports live production, it is possible to capture the players clearly from the corner of a large stadium. The 4K camera system and other popular focus assist functions are also provided to support focus operations.
