The Matthews CAM tank support is used with all large-format camera plates or mounts directly on any large or medium format camera equipped with 3/8"-16 mounting holes. It is designed for low-angle shots without sacrificing your ability to pan and tilt with the camera. It is also used to achieve Dutch angles when mounted on a fluid head, or for shots intended to be aimed directly downwards from a fluid head on a tripod or crane. The underside of the plate features 17 strategically placed 3/8"-16 tapped holes spaced 1 inch apart, in accordance with motion picture industry standards.


The system is CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminium with stainless steel hardware. The pan bearing uses a machined polyoxymethylene (Delrin) disc, which is self-lubricating and has a 100 times longer service life. The tilt system uses 4 high-quality NSK deep-groove ball bearings. The pan and tilt functions are fitted with brakes for static shots and camera safety.
