  • Projector mode: enhances the capture of beautiful images of subjects illuminated by a projector
By selecting a scene mode, capture can be performed without having to adjust multiple parameters in the camera menu, facilitating quick setup and allowing the operator to start filming with an impressive image expression.
Webcam via USB connection
The CR-N300 supports USB in addition to IP, SDI and HDMI. It is equipped with UVC (Video: USB Video Class Ver. 1.1) and UAC (Audio: USB Audio Class Ver. 1.0) specifications, which are standard connection standards between USB cameras and computers. This enables video and audio output by connecting to a USB-compatible device. Additionally, driver settings are not required to connect to the computer. It can also be used as a webcam by connecting to a computer on which a video conferencing application is installed. The CR-N300 provides video up to Full HD 1920 x 1080 for high-quality video conferencing.
Easy integration into IP streaming
In addition to SDI and HDMI connections, the CR-N300 is equipped with a dedicated RJ45 interface for IP communication, which supports high-resolution video for distribution. The CR-N300 supports multiple protocols that can be used for video, audio and control. Canon's original RC-IP100 controller uses the XC protocol to control the CR-N300. The CR-N300 can also be combined with third-party equipment for control purposes. This IP system can contribute to efficient and cost-effective camera operations in the field of video production, broadcasting and beyond.
IP multicast support
The CR-N300 can stream video over multiple protocols via IP simultaneously. Simultaneous streaming is also known as multicasting, and the CR-N300 can stream a total of three video streams at once. Additionally, if the HDMI/SDI video output is 30 fps or less, the CR-N300 can stream two video streams, 4K H.264 and 360p H.264, at the same time. These multi-stream IP capabilities support parallel workflows where the same video is used simultaneously in remote environments.
RTMP broadcast protocol support
The CR-N300 is capable of streaming video and audio using RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol). Even large high-quality video/audio files such as broadcast programmes are played back simultaneously with streaming without waiting for the download to complete. For example, using a live streaming service, viewers' direct access to the streaming URL configured on the camera will broadcast the "live" video captured by the camera. With RTMP streaming, multiple viewers can watch the programme simultaneously, even in a remote environment.
Support for NDI|HX live video production protocol
The CR-N300 supports the NDI (Network Device Interface) protocol, well established in the field of video production and broadcasting, as well as the RTP (Real-Time Transport Protocol) protocol. The NDI protocol was developed and led by NewTek as a protocol supporting the live video production workflow over an IP network. By creating a system using NDI-compatible devices and tools, it is possible to use video and audio resources on the network, including live video from cameras. This enables a "live video production" workflow.
Standard VISCA protocol
The CR-N300 supports the VISCA protocol, an industry standard for remote camera control via IP. When connecting a remote control compatible with the VISCA protocol to the camera via IP or RS-422 serial, the camera can be controlled remotely and shooting settings can be adjusted using the remote control. The VISCA protocol, an industry standard, is widely used in video production, broadcasting and many other markets. The CR-N300 supports the VISCA protocol, considered an industry standard and suitable for use in existing workflows.
Canon XC protocol support
The XC protocol is a newly developed IP protocol that controls Canon video production equipment. By supporting the XC protocol, the CR-N300 can be controlled remotely whilst supporting a wide range of applications, including sport, music, live events, conference recording, corporate video production and much more.
Multiple interfaces supported for various environments
The CR-N300 is equipped with four output interfaces. The IP and HDMI outputs are suitable for capture in UHD 4K at 30p or Full HD resolution at 59.94p. The SDI output is capable of Full HD resolution and is suitable for applications requiring high-quality video at 59.94p. The USB output is capable of Full HD resolution for high-quality video conferencing.
3.5 mm mini-jack
The CR-N300 offers a high-quality sound recording method via an internal stereo mini-jack microphone.
Single-operator operation
The CR-N300 can be controlled via IP, infrared, USB and Wi-Fi. Canon's hardware controller, the RC-IP100, is capable of controlling up to 100 cameras and 100 presets, allowing the operator to control multiple cameras in a larger production. The CR-N300 is perfectly suited to many applications in broadcasting, education, places of worship, events, theatre and much more.
Completely new design
The CR-N300 impresses with its distinctive style. A uniform exterior colour and a shape that appears to have been sculpted from a cone, with a size that gives an impression of robustness whilst remaining stable and compact. This PTZ camera maintains design harmony with other Canon professional imaging products such as Canon's 4K camera systems and established lenses. The CR-N300 is available in two different colours, satin black and titanium white.
Equipped with tally indicators
The CR-N300 is equipped with tally indicators that display the camera's status. The tally indicators are located at the front of the lens section and light up red when the camera is recording, providing clear visual cues to staff and presenters to indicate which camera is recording live. Supported wireless remote controls In addition to the IP interface, the CR-N300 can also connect via Wi-Fi. This allows the operator to access the camera's settings page from a wireless tablet equipped with a compatible HTTP browser. When multiple cameras are used simultaneously, the user can set up and use other cameras in the same way by entering the IP address assigned to the camera in the web browser of the tablet or any other device. Additionally, the CR-N300 includes an infrared remote control, which is used to control the camera wirelessly.
User-friendly Settings Page and Discovery Tool
The CR-N300 supports the Camera Discovery Tool, a Windows application. The Camera Discovery Tool allows you to define IP addresses for multiple cameras, helping installers and integrators to configure the CR-N300 in an existing network infrastructure. Additionally, the CR-N300 supports the "Settings Page" web application. The Settings Page allows users to configure the camera's operating parameters, accessible via a web browser. Video quality settings, such as exposure and white balance, which are usually performed by the camera operator on site, can now be adjusted and set whilst viewing the video from their computer via the Settings Page. The Camera Discovery Tool and Settings Page enhance usability through remote control.
Remote camera control application
The Remote Camera Control application can be used to control the CR-N300. Remote Camera Control is a Windows application for centralised control of multiple cameras. It is possible to use up to nine cameras and display the videos simultaneously, thus enabling "multi-camera operation". On a video production or broadcast site, an operator can select a camera from the videos displayed in the application's "connected camera list" and use it from the "camera control area" of the software control panel. The software is included and can be installed immediately without having to prepare a hardware controller beforehand, making it easier for the operator to use while creating an efficient single-operator operation.
