This dedicated microphone uses the multi-function shoe to provide power and a digital connection, meaning no battery or cable connection is required for its operation. The clean design extends to parameter control, with the microphone featuring just a single Menu button to display a menu on the connected camera for making adjustments and parameter changes.
- Compatible with Canon cameras equipped with a multi-function shoe, this microphone connects digitally to the camera via this connection and also receives its power through it; no battery or connection cable is required.
- The digital connection significantly reduces hum or unwanted noise in audio recordings.
- Three distinct capture settings are available to suit a variety of shooting needs:
- Shotgun mode is a focused recording mode that captures a narrow band of sound in front of the camera, making it suitable for dialogue, solo musical instruments or other specific subjects.
- 90° stereo recording mode suits a single subject and adds audio context on the sides to facilitate recording of small groups of people.
- 120° stereo recording mode offers a wider sound angle, ideal for recording larger groups in more expansive areas, such as a group on stage or an outdoor party.
- The Menu button works in conjunction with the camera's menu system, and microphone parameter settings can be made via the camera's interface.
- The included wind screen helps reduce peripheral sounds caused by wind or other ambient noise for clearer, more focused playback.
