Covering a versatile wide-angle range, the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM is designed for Canon APS-C DSLR cameras with EF-S mount and offers a focal length range equivalent to 16-35.2mm, suitable for a wide variety of shooting conditions. The flexible zoom range is complemented by a sophisticated optical design, which includes one Super-UD element and three aspherical elements to control chromatic and spherical aberrations, as well as a Super Spectra coating applied to limit flare and ghosting, thus improving contrast. Additionally, this lens features a ring-type USM for fast and silent autofocus, with full-time manual override, and an internal focusing design that also speeds up focusing and maintains the overall lens length during use.
- The wide-angle zoom is designed for Canon APS-C format DSLR cameras with EF-S mount and provides a focal length range equivalent to 16-35.2mm.
- One Super-Ultra-Low Dispersion glass element significantly reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for high clarity and color fidelity.
- Three aspherical elements limit distortion and spherical aberration for enhanced sharpness and accurate rendering.
- A Super Spectra coating has been applied to individual elements to minimize ghosting and flare, providing better contrast and color neutrality when shooting in bright lighting conditions.
- A ring-type Ultrasonic Motor (USM), combined with an internal focusing design, enables fast, accurate, and quiet autofocus as well as full-time manual focus control.
- The rounded six-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing blur quality that favors the use of reduced depth of field and selective focusing techniques.
