The ARRI 9.5-18mm T2.9 ultra wide zoom lens was designed for current and future large-sensor HD cameras. This near-telecentric ultra wide zoom offers optimum image quality, making it suitable for plates and other visual effects applications. It covers large formats up to the current ARRI Open Gate image circle of 33.6mm and is future-proof with image circles up to 34.5mm. The UWZ 9.5-18mm features a fixed entrance pupil position across the entire zoom range, and its very low distortion rate guarantees straight lines even at its minimum focus distance of 21.6". Its stainless steel PL mount includes a Lens Data System (LDS) interface for transmitting essential lens data for many special effects shots. Image illumination remains uniform to the corners of the image, and there is virtually no breathing during focus. The multi-layer coating minimises reflections and flares, helping to deliver the colour rendition, resolution and accurate skin tones for which ARRI/Zeiss is known, matching other lenses in the ARRI range. Additional features of the UWZ 9.5-18mm include focus markings in feet, an integrated support foot, a de-clicked aperture for smooth iris adjustments, interchangeable filter holder interfaces and a maximum barrel diameter of 112mm.
