Covering a useful range of wide-angle focal lengths, the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 7-14mm f/4 ASPH. is a versatile wide-angle zoom for Micro Four Thirds cameras, and offers an equivalent focal length of 14-28mm. Well suited to landscape, nature and architectural applications, the wide field of view is complemented by a constant f/4 maximum aperture for consistent illumination throughout the zoom range. The optical design uses low dispersion and aspherical glass elements to control a variety of aberrations and colour fringing for remarkable sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy, and the individual elements are also multi-coated to control lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast. Additionally, the lens features an integrated petal-shaped lens hood to protect the front element from stray light to further reduce flare and surface reflections.
- Ultra wide-angle zoom for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras offering an equivalent focal length range of 14-28mm.
- The constant f/4 maximum aperture offers consistent performance and illumination throughout the zoom range.
- Four extra-low dispersion elements help reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to achieve high clarity and colour accuracy. Additionally, a pair of aspherical elements is present in the optical design to control spherical aberrations and distortion for remarkable sharpness.
- Individual elements have been multi-coated to effectively reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast when working in bright lighting conditions.
- The autofocus motor supports the camera's contrast detection for precise focusing performance. AF can also be overridden manually for more precise control.
- The integrated petal-shaped lens hood protects the front element from stray light and helps reduce reflections.
