The SHAPE Sony A7R III cage is intended for filmmakers, videographers and photographers looking for a simple, hassle-free and ergonomic cage design that really works. Specially designed for the Sony A7R III camera, the fitted cage offers additional protection and firmly locks the camera in the cage. It provides easy access to all controls and ports as well as multiple mounting points for accessories. It also features a standard ARRI rosette that can be mounted at four different locations on the cage, compatible with multiple world-renowned SHAPE push-button handles such as WL-HAND1, WR-HAND1, HAND1. For handheld shooting, the 15mm side rod collars, located at the rear of the cage, are designed to quickly attach the new ergonomic wooden push-button side handles with indexable 15mm rods and padded straps using a single ratchet button on each side (sold separately). The SHAPE Sony A7R III cage provides easy access to all camera functions such as control buttons, side outputs, memory card, battery compartment and lens release button, allowing you to save time when shooting. In addition, the mount between the lens and the camera grip is designed to anticipate finger clearance when the camera is hand-held, allowing for an ergonomic grip. This ergonomic cage is easy to assemble and disassemble and the components do not need to be removed to install the camera, which is secured with a captive slotted 1/4"-20 base screw integrated into the cage, using the threaded hole underneath. The position is secured with the back and sides of the cage, so that it does not move forward when fitted with a heavier lens. You can also attach a delta adapter plate under the cage to mount it on a quick-release plate for rapid transition from tripod to handheld configuration.

In addition, all doors and latches are fully operational when the camera is in the cage. Its clever and easy-to-use design allows you to use the camera without having to remove the cable doors, and the strap hooks can remain attached to the camera when it is inserted into the cage. It is also equipped with an efficient cable retention system for the three cables on the left side to secure their use, including the full-size HDMI cable protection lock to secure the use of your 4K HDMI cable. Leaving free access to the accessory shoe on top of the camera, you can mount many accessories using multiple mounting options, including two accessory shoe mounts located on top of the cage as well as numerous SHAPE Standard 1/4"-20 anti-rotation mounting holes, ARRI Standard 3/8"-16 anti-rotation mounting holes and 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes. Made of CNC-machined aluminium, the cage keeps the camera firmly in place and prevents it from rotating thanks to two anti-rotation tabs at the front. In addition, the cage is compatible with the Sony XLR-K2M audio unit, offering excellent sound for your videos. It is also equipped with a Metabone® adapter mount. Changing lenses or adding a Metabone® adapter can be done easily whilst keeping the camera in the cage.

The SHAPE Sony A7R III cage provides a 15mm rod collar on each side, allowing convenient positioning of 15mm horizontal rods on either side of the cage. For handheld shooting, the 15mm side rod collars, located at the rear of the cage, are designed to quickly attach the new ergonomic wooden push-button mini side handles with padded straps using a single ratchet button on each side (not included, sold separately).

The new SHAPE ergonomic and easily removable top handle has been designed to provide the necessary space for mounting the Sony XLR-K2M audio unit. It offers a comfortable and secure wooden grip for carrying your camera and attaching accessories. It also features SHAPE Push-Button technology, allowing you to balance the weight and rotate the handle to the position you need on a 360° axis. This top handle with its neat design offers multiple mounting options, including ARRI Standard 3/8"-16 anti-rotation mounting holes on top, SHAPE Standard 1/4"-20 anti-rotation mounting holes on top and on the side, accessory shoe mounts and a 3/8"-16 UNC threaded hole at the front. It also features the SHAPE Rod Clamp Holder positioning system at the front, allowing you to mount a 15mm rod directly onto the handle.

Made of CNC-machined aluminium, the LW 15mm collar for top handle can be attached to our new SHAPE wooden push-button top handle. The collar is designed to support a 15mm rod such as the SHAPE REVOLT electronic viewfinder mount. The ratchet clamp button allows you to adjust and firmly secure the position of the 15mm rod on the top handle.

The cage can easily snap on and be quickly removed from its LW 15mm base by pressing the release button at the rear of the mount for handheld shooting. The cage is connected to its base via the new SHAPE Delta quick-release rod base system using a 15mm rod block system specially designed for the optical centre of the Sony A7R III camera. It allows quick mounting and dismounting of the camera.

SHAPE Metabones® adapter mount
SHAPE has created a removable Metabones® adapter mount specially designed for the Sony A7R III camera that is integrated into the cage. Secured with 2 screws, the height of the mount is easily adjustable and offers 15mm of vertical adjustment. It supports the weight and reduces strain on the camera's lens mount. When there is no Metabones® adapter, simply unscrew the 1/4"-20 screw to quickly remove the mount.

The 15mm rods are a pair of 18" long rods, allowing you to use available rod-mounted accessories. The rods are machined from hollow aluminium tubes and feature chamfered ends.

SHAPE HAND5 quick handle rod block
The unique patented SHAPE Quick Handle Push-Button technology features two handles that can rotate individually on a 360° axis. The SHAPE handles can be rotated by pressing the red buttons. Once the buttons are released, the handles are firmly locked in place. You can achieve precise positioning by sliding the SHAPE Quick Handle Rod Bloc along the rods and securing the handles by tightening the single red button on the Rod Bloc. Compatible with all 15mm rod systems, the SHAPE Quick Handle Rod Bloc can be attached to the front of any type of camera support. All CNC-machined aerospace-grade aluminium parts are hard-anodised for a durable finish and assembled with stainless steel screws to prevent rust. It also features a stainless steel locking mechanism for increased durability.

SHPAD3 composite mini shoulder pad and PAD1 back pad
To complete this shoulder mount configuration, SHAPE has included an ergonomic composite foam and gel mini shoulder pad made of non-slip material, as well as a padded back pad for stability and comfort during shooting. The SHAPE composite mini shoulder pad is the perfect solution for quickly switching from the SHAPE camera mount to the tripod without having to remove it. Padded for your comfort, the shoulder pad rests on your shoulder and can remain permanently on the camera mount. This way, your body supports the weight of the camera and its accessories. The Rod Bloc on top is used to hold the 15mm rods to secure the camera rig.

FFCLIC Friction & Gear Clic Follow Focus with adjustable marker
The SHAPE Follow Focus Friction & Gear Clic with adjustable marker features a reversible gearbox housing and the unique SHAPE lever collar system for attaching to 15mm rods. You can quickly mount the SHAPE Follow Focus Friction & Gear Clic on the rods by simply locking the lever. It offers precise focusing, quick adjustments and great durability. The Shape Friction & Gear Follow-Focus Clic with adjustable marker is designed to attach to standard 15mm rods on shoulder mounts or other supports. It can be easily mounted and removed from the rods using the patented SHAPE lever clamp system.

First, simply place the Clic on the rods, then slide and close the lever collar system under the rods, and finally the lever locks and firmly holds the Clic on the rods. Once the lever is locked, the focusing mechanism remains firmly in place.

In addition, the focusing mechanism can be used either on the left side or the right side of the lens, depending on the direction in which you place the Clic on the rods. The focus disc itself can be used either in front of the focusing mechanism or behind it, to suit a greater variety of lens lengths. To move the disc backwards, simply first unscrew two screws from a cubic gearbox housing. Once the screws are removed, the focus disc can simply be turned over for use with longer lens constructions.

In addition, the Clic focusing mechanism also works with the SHAPE lever collar system which, when unlocked, loosens the focusing mechanism and allows it to move horizontally. It moves to adjust closer to the lens. When moving, its main feature - the focus disc - moves with it, and the focus disc is what reaches the lens. This can be either a friction wheel or a gear wheel. Both are present in this set, and replacing one with the other is done using the included Allen key.

The friction wheel has a rubber outer surface that presses against the lens, maintains firm contact with it and ensures precise, slip-free focusing. The friction wheel can suit most lenses and is made of high-quality rubber that, in cold weather, will not become too cold to lose its grip. The gear wheel can fit lenses that specifically have teeth on their focus rings, and it can do so without any gear ring, by pressing its 0.8 pitch gears into the teeth. The white marking disc is made of highly resistant Delrin thermoplastic; it is interchangeable and you can write on it using non-permanent markers. CNC machined, it is made of lightweight anodised aluminium for strength and durability.

The SHAPE 4 x 4" 2-stage Matte Box fits lenses up to 100mm and uses 15mm LWS rods as well as a pivoting support arm that allows you to make quick lens changes without having to remove the Matte Box from your rods. You can adjust the height of the Matte Box relative to the rods, which is convenient when the centre heights of your lens and rods differ slightly from standard. Two 360° rotating filter stages allow the use of 4x4" filters. The matte box comes with a top French flag (eyebrow), two side flags with safety hook design, four matte box doughnuts in sizes 66, 72, 82 and 90mm, and elastic doughnuts.
