Samyang 135mm T2.2 AS UMC VDSLR II Lens for Canon EF Mount
The Samyang 135mm T1.5 AS UMC VDSLR II lens for Canon EF mount is a manual focus prime lens. It offers a maximum aperture of T2.2 for effective low-light capture and depth of field control, as well as a 9-blade aperture for attractive bokeh. Optimised for cinema and video applications, the focus and aperture control rings feature industry-standard clicks, allowing an interface to work with a traditional follow focus. The aperture control ring has also been declicked, allowing smooth aperture adjustments. In addition, clearly visible aperture and distance markings are printed on the side of the lens barrel for easy control by a camera assistant. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 2.6'. Internal focus minimises breathing effects, and the lens is composed of 11 elements in 7 groups. The multi-layer coating on the lens helps improve light transmission by reducing stray reflections and ghosting. The thread diameter for attaching lens hoods or filter rings is 77 mm.
Each lens in the VDSLR II series offers the same position for its clicked focus and aperture rings, so the follow focus and other rig accessories will not need to be readjusted when changing lenses. In addition, each lens is tested to match in colour with the other lenses in the series and provide the same colour and contrast during video shooting, allowing you to add lenses to your kit over time without worrying about a significant colour shift in your image when changing lenses. To assist camera assistants, lenses are marked with focus scales on both sides of the barrel for easier adjustment from either side of the camera.
