Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM
Covering a versatile wide-angle focal length range, the Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8L IS USM is also characterised by its constant bright f/2.8 maximum aperture. This bright design allows working in available light conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field. The wide-angle focal length range is suitable for various situations, from landscape photography to documentary, and this zoom is complemented by an advanced optical design that significantly reduces colour fringing and distortion for high clarity and sharpness. An Air Sphere coating has also been applied to reduce flare and ghosting, thereby improving contrast and colour fidelity when working in bright conditions.
Complementing the imaging capabilities, an appropriate Nano USM focusing system offers fast and nearly silent autofocus performance with full-time manual focus override. An image stabiliser also compensates for up to five stops of camera shake to help produce sharper handheld shots in challenging lighting conditions. A unique control ring is also built into the lens design for intuitive control of exposure settings from the lens itself. Additionally, this 15-35mm is weather-resistant and features a fluorine coating to protect the front and rear elements.
- The wide-angle zoom lens is designed for use with Canon RF-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras.
- The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and is suitable for working in available light conditions.
- Two UD (Ultra-Low Dispersion) elements help to minimise chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to offer greater clarity and improved colour accuracy.
- Three aspherical elements are used to correct spherical aberrations and distortion for improved sharpness and accurate rendering.
- An Air Sphere Coating (ASC) has been applied to lens elements to reduce flare and ghosting in backlit conditions, in order to maintain light transmission and high contrast in intense lighting conditions.
- An optical image stabiliser helps to minimise the appearance of camera shake by five stops to better enable working in low-light conditions and with slower shutter speeds.
- The Nano USM system uses both a ring-type USM and an STM mechanism to achieve fast and precise focusing, which is also smooth and nearly silent, suitable for both photographic and video applications. This focusing system also allows continuous manual focus control in AF One-Shot mode.
- The configurable control ring can be used to adjust a variety of exposure settings, including aperture, ISO, and exposure compensation.
- A fluorine protective coating has been applied to the front and rear elements to resist fingerprints and smudges, and to significantly facilitate cleaning of these elements.
- As a member of the prestigious L-series, this lens features a weather-resistant design that protects it against dust and moisture for use in challenging conditions.
