Tiffen 82mm Black Pro-Mist 1 Filter
The Tiffen 82mm Black Pro-Mist 1 Filter helps reduce highlight values whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and reducing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike traditional diffusion or soft focus filters, Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image. Density 1 provides more contrast and highlight reduction than 1/2, but less than 2, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel quality of light.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it in precision metal rings.
- Pro-Mist filters offer little loss of detail across the entire image compared to traditional diffusion and soft focus filters.
