The control room monitor channel is common to all mixing consoles and allows monitoring of different sources on the control room speakers (MONITOR) via a 6.35mm stereo jack socket and on the presenter's headphones (PHONES) via 6.35mm stereo jack sockets. The front panel control knobs allow adjustment of monitor and headphone levels, and the headphones can be plugged into either the front or rear of this channel. The control speaker and headphone levels are adjustable between 0 (off) and 10 (maximum).nnA set of four electronically latching switches allows selection of the source routed to the speakers and headphones from two external inputs (EXT 1, EXT 2), the PGM or AUD output. The buttons illuminate to indicate the selected source, PGM and AUD in green, EXT 1 and EXT 2 in red. The external inputs can be used to monitor an off-air signal or the output from another studio.nnAn illuminated Mute LED indicates when an active microphone channel in the control room has muted the speakers to prevent feedback. The Mute outputs on the PGM output channel remote connector can be used to remotely illuminate "Mic Live" lights.nnThe AUTO CUE/PFL buttons adjacent to each level control allow PFL monitoring when an input channel has been selected to CUE/PFL. Additionally, SPLIT CUE/PFL can be selected for the headphones, which will place the selected source in mono in one ear and PFL in mono in the other.nnThis channel controls the signal conditioning for the talkback input and output and routes these signals to and from the talkback bus. Internal jumpers can be configured to allow talkback to override or dim the selected source, with independent dimming on the control speakers or headphones.nnA comprehensive talkback system can be configured to allow each contribution point in the control room and studio to communicate with each other via their microphone and headphones.
