Tiffen 52mm Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter
The Tiffen 52mm Black Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter helps to reduce the intensity of highlights whilst slightly decreasing overall contrast. This filter is particularly useful for softening and smoothing facial wrinkles and other imperfections. Whilst designed for cinematographic use, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or blur filter, Pro-Mist filters result in only minimal loss of detail across the entire image. The 1/4 density offers more highlight and contrast reduction than the 1/8, but less than the 1/2, whilst allowing for a soft, pastel light quality.
Tiffen filters are manufactured using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding it flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, then mounting it on precision metal rings.
- Pro-Mist filters offer minimal loss of detail across the entire image compared to traditional diffusion and blur filters.
