Sony Portable Fibre CCU for HDC-5500
IP-compatible camera control unit (CCU) for HDC-5500 4K/HD system camera
The HDCU-5500 camera control unit is designed to operate with the Sony HDC-5500 4K/HD system camera. It provides interfaces to external equipment and camera power supply in a compact and portable 3U half-rack format, ideal for outdoor production environments.
Offering a 12G-SDI output interface and 4K as standard, the CCU also provides a path to optional IP and 12G-SDI capabilities, including IP on HDC series optical fibre studio cameras.
Combined with the HDC-5500 camera, the HDCU-5500 enables two 4K signal lines of ultra high bitrate (UHB) optical fibre transmission, supporting shooting in various capture formats with an additional 4K video line.
IP Tally support (TSL UMD v5.0) is included as standard, whilst CCU menu settings can be remotely adjusted via a network.

This CCU offers 4K and IP in a compact half-rack housing.
High-quality long-distance signal transmission
Combined with the optional HKCU-SM50 interface kit, the compact HDCU-5500 can be directly connected using 3G single-mode fibre (SMF) for long-distance transmission of up to 10 km, making it ideal for space-limited operations such as broadcast trucks.
MENU adjustment from a web browser
The CCU supports menu control from a web browser. Status monitoring of multiple CCUs, import/export of settings files and remote firmware updates enhance operational efficiency and convenience.
IP-ready
The optional HKCU-SFP50 IP interface kit adds ST 2110 4K/HD video/audio IP capabilities and IP intercom.
Ultra high bitrate transmission
The newly developed UHB (Ultra High Bitrate) transmission achieves exceptional 4K image quality and 4K TRUNK/4K PROMPTER transmission in a single hybrid fibre cable. This enables the 4K system to be extended in a simple system configuration.
