Panasonic LUMIX S 24-105mm F4.0 Macro
Covering a versatile range from wide-angle to short telephoto, the Panasonic Lumix S 24-105mm f/4 Macro O.I.S. is a flexible zoom with a constant maximum aperture of f/4 for L-mount mirrorless cameras. Regarding its optical design, a series of low dispersion and aspherical elements is used to control various aberrations, chromatic fringing and distortions in order to achieve a high degree of sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy. Balancing its optical performance, this zoom is also unique due to its maximum magnification ratio of 1:2 and its minimum focusing distance of 30 cm for working with close-up subjects. Additionally, optical image stabilisation helps to control the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting, and the lens features a weather-sealed design for use in challenging conditions.
The standard 24-105mm zoom is designed for L-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, but can also be used with APS-C models where it offers an equivalent focal range of 36-157.5mm.
The constant maximum aperture of f/4 maintains uniform illumination across the entire zoom range.
Four aspherical elements, including two in extra-low dispersion glass, help to minimise distortion and spherical aberrations across the entire zoom range to maintain sharpness and illumination from edge to edge.
One ultra-extra-low dispersion element and two extra-low dispersion elements significantly reduce chromatic aberrations and colour fringing to produce a high degree of clarity and colour accuracy.
The macro design offers a half-life-size magnification ratio of 1:2 and a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm for working with close-up subjects.
Optical image stabilisation minimises the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting, and also supports the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 system for improved stabilisation performance.
The AF/MF switch allows quick changes of focus mode and a zoom lock can be used to prevent the lens from extending when not in use.
The splash-proof, dust-proof and freeze-proof design allows working in challenging weather conditions down to -10°C.
The nine-blade rounded diaphragm contributes to a pleasing bokeh quality.
